National Assembly Speaker at Opening of 58th Economic and Tourist Event "Zupa Harvest 2023" in Aleksandrovac

The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Dr Vladimir Orlic visited the municipality of Aleksandrovac yesterday and attended the opening ceremony of the traditional event "Zupa Harvest", gathering winemakers and winegrowers from the county every year in celebration of the start of the grape harvest.

Speaker Orlic told the assembled that this event is not only in honour and glory of wine, grapes, and vineyards, but, in a special way, it is about our history and our culture, because by growing authentic Serbian varieties, each of our hosts protects the Serbian heritage.

"And I want you to know – today, you can count on the support of your country, on the fact that we will always think about what else we can do, that we are always looking for room to increase incentives, to provide additional funds, not only for production, but for everything that is important to us: in the first place - for our children, which is a goal that is worth every effort we are able to make", said Speaker Orlic, adding that the proof of this is the state-building policy headed by President Aleksandar Vucic, the policy followed by the National Assembly and the Government, and that our country, our people and every person always come first.

"We managed to secure double incentives per hectare, we continue to increase pensions and salaries, we found means, ways and strength to help families, mothers and their children. And we did that, you saw, sometimes in impossible conditions, in spite of those who were not happy that we could provide all that. When it comes to the well-being of our people, surrender is not an option for us,'' said Speaker Orlic.

During his visit to the municipality of Aleksandrovac, the National Assembly Speaker and the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Jelena Tanaskovic visited the fruit and vegetable processing family company "Voćne čarolije doo" and talked with the farmers of this region.
