Assembly Speaker Ivica Dacic welcomed the delegation, saying that the Republic of Serbia is deeply committed to the values of La Francophonie - promotion of peace, democracy, human rights, intercultural cooperation, dialogue and solidarity, both globally and regionally. He added that we greatly appreciate the support for the National Assembly’s activities in the Parliamentary Assembly of La Francophonie, as it is Serbia’s goal to become a full member of La Francophonie.

The officials spoke about the organisational issues of the upcoming session of the Parliamentary Assembly of La Francophonie European Section to be held in Belgrade, 22-26 November. As the coming Session will be dedicated to equal access to vaccines in the Francophone area, National Assembly Speaker Ivica Dacic said that Serbia would like to share its experiences gained during the COVID-19 pandemic and the vaccination process with all of its friends from La Francophonie as a show of solidarity in the face of the growing global interdependence of states and peoples.

The Head of the Parliamentary Assembly of La Francophonie European Section Jean-Charles Luperto thanked the National Assembly on behalf of the Parliamentary Assembly of La Francophonie, especially the Assembly Speaker, for the help and support organising the coming Session in Serbia since other countries were not prepared to host the event in the pandemic and it is an extremely important one for the work of the organisation. He said that this Session of the European Section is also important for the promotion of Serbia within La Francophonie and will certainly contribute to its gaining the status of full member in the international organisation.
