National Assembly Speaker Convenes Seventh Extraordinary Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, 11th Legislature

At the request of 158 MPs, the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Maja Gojkovic convened the Seventh Extraordinary Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia for Tuesday, 12 June.


The MPs will be discussing the Bill amending and modifying the Law on Local Self-Government, Bill amending and modifying the Law on State Administration, Bill amending and modifying the Law on Civil Registry Books and the Bill amending and modifying the Law on Public Agencies, submitted by the Government of the Republic of Serbia.

The National Assembly will also consider the Bill on Salaries of Employees of Public Agencies and Other Organizations Founded by the Republic of Serbia, Autonomous Province or Local Self-Government Unit, Bill amending and modifying the Law on National Councils of National Minorities, Bill amending and modifying the Law on Protection of Rights and Freedoms of National Minorities and the Bill amending and modifying the Law on Official Use of Languages and Scripts, submitted by the Government of the Republic of Serbia.

The MPs will also deliberate on the Bill amending and modifying the Law on Territorial Organization of the Republic of Serbia, submitted by MPs Studenka Kovacevic, Miletic Mihajlovic, Dr Darko Laketic and MA Dejan Radenkovic, as well as the Bill on the Confirmation of the Additional Protocol to the European Charter of Local Self-Government on the Right to Participate in the Affairs of a Local Authority, submitted by the Government.

In addition, the National Assembly will consider the Proposal for the Election of Governor of the National Bank of Serbia, submitted by the President of the Republic of Serbia, Proposal for the Election of Vice-Governor of the National Bank of Serbia, submitted by the Governor of the National Bank of Serbia, Election of Anti-Corruption Agency Board Members, at the proposal of the Ombudsman and the Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection, and the Journalists’ Association of Serbia and Independent Journalists’ Association of Serbia, by mutual agreement, as well as the Proposal of the Decision on the Election of Court Presidents, submitted by the High Judicial Council.

The session will be held at the National Assembly House, starting at 10 am.
