National Assembly Deputy Speaker Prof. Dr Vladimir Marinkovic Meets with Deputy Head of OSCE Mission to Serbia
National Assembly Deputy Speaker Prof. Dr Vladimir Marinkovic met today, at the National Assembly House, with the Deputy Head of the OSCE Mission to Serbia Michael Uyehara.
National Assembly Deputy Speaker Prof. Dr Vladimir Marinkovic thanked the Deputy Head of the OSCE Mission to Serbia for the support in various projects of interest for the National Assembly. He opined that the cooperation between National Assembly and the OSCE Mission to Serbia is excellent, especially the cooperation within the Parliamentary Group for Open Parliament. He also announced the “Week of Parliamentarism”, to be held in Serbia for the first time, co-organised by the National Assembly and the civil sector and international organisations.
Deputy Speaker Marinkovic also said that, following the initiative of National Alliance for Local Economic Development (NALED) and the International Republican Institute (IRI), the National Assembly set up the Economic Caucus which opened dialogue with business associations. He said that the Economic Caucus comprises MPs from the ruling majority and the opposition which sends a good message to the Serbian citizens – that the MPs will work together on important issues.
The officials agreed that the OSCE Mission’s support would be very useful for the promotion of regional cooperation between Serbia and the neighbouring countries, which would open up new markets and result in new investment opportunities.
The Deputy Head of the OSCE Mission to Serbia Michael Uyehara said he was pleased the OSCE Mission had contributed to the National Assembly’s relationship with the citizens. He said that the OSCE Mission would continue to support Serbia’s efforts on opening EU negotiation chapters 23 and 24.
