National Assembly Deputy Speaker Arsic Greets Attendees of International Seminar for Young Diplomats from Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean
The National Assembly House hosted the International Seminar for young diplomats from Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean entitled: “Foreign policy priorities and the cultural heritage of the Republic of Serbia” organized by the Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The attendees were greeted by National Assembly Deputy Speaker Veroljub Arsic who said that he hoped the experiences they gain in the Serbian Parliament would help their further professional development and that they will apply their newly-acquired knowledge in their own countries.
Deputy Speaker Arsic also spoke to them about the National Assembly’s mode of operation stressing the importance of parliamentary diplomacy in view of the fact that parliamentarians are the elected representatives of the citizens. He also spoke about parliamentary friendship groups and the important work they do in discussing various bilateral and global issues.
Deputy Speaker Arsic’s address was followed by a lecture on “Parliamentary diplomacy with a special focus on Serbia” by Stanko Blagojevic, head of the Foreign Affairs Department.
