Milenko Jovanov Meets with Chinese Embassy Political Advisor

MP Milenko Jovanov, Head of the “ALEKSANDAR VUCIC – TOGETHER WE CAN DO ANYTHING” Parliamentary Group, met today at the National Assembly House with Wang Xiaolong, political advisor in the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the Republic of Serbia, to discuss the continuation of bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

Jovanov pointed out that Serbia and China are countries that cultivate a steel-strong friendship, whose leaders, presidents Vucic and Xi, enjoy intensive and good cooperation.

Milenko Jovanov stressed that Serbia's strategic commitment is achieving full membership in the European Union, while maintaining good relations with traditionally friendly countries, such as China. He added that Serbia and China are committed to respecting international law and the inviolability of the territorial integrity of states, stressing that the support they provide each other in the cases of Kosovo-Metohija and Taiwan, is extremely important.

The Chinese Embassy representative, Wang Xiaolong, agreed that our two countries are close partners on the political and economic level, stressing the importance of interparliamentary cooperation.

Speaking about relations in the field of economy, Jovanov said that Chinese investments greatly contribute to Serbia’s economic progress and the creation of new jobs, expressing his belief that the economic exchange between our two countries would expand even further.

In the course of the meeting, the officials opined that the Belt and Road Initiative is extremely important, as it facilitates intensive political, economic, trade and parliamentary cooperation between China and the countries of Central and Eastern Europe.
