The meeting started with a presentation of project Twin Continent 1520mm Broad Gauge-Connection Koscice-Vienna by Heinz Gschnitzer of Austrian Railways and Alexander Schierhuber, director of Breitspur-Planung.

Following the presentation, Austrian Minister for Transport, Innovation and Technology Norbert Hofer addressed the participants and spoke about the historic, political and social importance of international infrastructure projects.

Following Minister Hofer’s address, the participants discussed Italy’s application to join the Group and voted in favour of accepting it. The representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus then presented the draft programme of the international conference of the Silk Road Support Group to be held in Minsk, Belarus, on 29-30 April 2019, after which the delegation of the Swiss Federal Assembly presented the draft programme of the international conference of the Silk Road Support Group to be held in Switzerland in September 2019.
