Laketic reminded the attending that Serbia took over the chairmanship of the CEI at the end of last year, and that colleagues from the other parliaments of member states will have the opportunity to be guests of our country twice. The first opportunity will be on 20 and 21 May 2025, when a meeting of the Chairpersons of the Foreign Affairs Committees of the member states is planned to be held on the topic "Partnership within the Central European Initiative: Support for the Enlargement of the European Union", said Laketic and invited all representatives of the member states to come to Belgrade and contribute to the work of this gathering. The second opportunity to meet will be the Parliamentary Assembly, planned to take place on 4 to 6 November 2025, said Darko Laketic.

In his address, he underlined the importance of developing parliamentary diplomacy and the significance of regular exchange of parliamentary experiences within regional initiatives such as CEI.

Laketic highlighted his conviction that the parliamentarians will contribute to the strengthening of the position and role of parliaments in the Central European Initiative, as well as European and international politics as a whole.
