Judges and Deputy Public Prosecutors Take Oath of Office Before National Assembly Speaker

Judges and deputy public prosecutors elected to office for the first time took the oath of office today before the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic.

The oath of office was taken by the judges elected to judicial office for the first time at the 16th Sitting of the Second Regular Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2021, held on 29 December 2021, and the 17th Extraordinary Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, 12th Legislature, held on 9 February 2022.

The oath of office was also taken by the deputy public prosecutors elected to office for the first time at the 17th Extraordinary Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, 12th Legislature, held on 9 February 2022.

The National Assembly Speaker expressed his conviction that during their mandate the newly-elected judges and deputy public prosecutors would perform their duty independently and without bias, in line with the law and Constitution, following only their conscience, to ensure a just trial and fair treatment for every citizen of the Republic of Serbia, and contribute to the reputation the judicial and prosecutorial office.

The oath-taking ceremony was attended by President of the Supreme Court of Cassation and the High Judicial Council Jasmina Vasovic, State Secretary at the Ministry of Justice Bojana Scepanovic, National Assembly Secretary General Veljko Odalovic, National Assembly Deputy Secretary General Srdjan Smiljanic, as well as the members of the High Judicial Council and the State Prosecutorial Council.
