Head of PFG with Benelux Meets with Belgian Ambassador

The Head of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with Benelux, Aleksandar Mirkovic, met today in the National Assembly with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium to Serbia, Johan R. Develter, to discuss opportunities for cooperation and improvement of relations between our two countries.

Mirkovic thanked Belgium for the support it provides to Serbia on its European path, emphasising the Republic of Serbia’s commitment to the reform processes.

The officials also discussed opportunities for improving economic cooperation. They noted that there is potential for increasing Belgian investments in Serbia, which would contribute to the further development of the economy.

The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium positively assessed the economic cooperation to date and emphasised Serbia’s importance as an economic partner in the region. The officials also discussed opportunities for an exchange of experiences in the fields of culture, education and science, as well as specific projects that would contribute to the deepening of mutual ties. Both sides agreed that regular communication between representatives of the parliament, government and business sectors is key to the further development of relations.

The meeting once again confirmed the good relations between Serbia and the Kingdom of Belgium, with expressed readiness for their further improvement in all areas of common interest.
