Attending the Conference of Parliament Speakers of EU Member States in Bratislava, the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Maja Gojkovic had a series of bilateral meetings with EU parliament speakers to discuss Serbia’s Euro-integration, parliamentary cooperation and intensification of relations.

Gojkovic met with the Speaker of the Spanish Congress of Deputies Ana Pastor and on the occasion stressed that the two countries enjoy excellent and friendly relations and adding that she would be happy to see them improve especially in the sphere of parliamentary cooperation. To that end they agreed on a visit by the Congress Speaker to Serbia this year.

Gojkovic thanked Spain for the unswerving support and principled respect of Serbia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and the Spanish side once again reaffirmed its support of both Serbia’s territorial integrity and its path to the EU.

Gojkovic invited the Speaker of the Slovak National Council to visit Serbia and possibly on the occasion sign a memorandum of cooperation between the two parliaments.

Gojkovic thanked Slovakia for its active and ongoing support of Serbia’s Euro-integration as well as its concrete support during the presidency of the EU Council when four negotiation chapters were opened, hoping that this would to continue in the future.
