Finance, State Budget and Control of Public Spending Committee Chairman at XVI Verona Eurasian Economic Forum in UAE

The Chairman of the Committee on Finance, State Budget and Control of Public Spending of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Veroljub Arsic took part in the XVI Verona Eurasian Economic Forum in Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates, held on 5 and 6 December 2024.

In his address, Arsic said that in the last few decades the world is facing rapid and profound changes that affect all spheres of life, especially economy and finance. He stressed that technology, globalisation, climate change and new ways of conducting business have led to a transformation of financial systems and the way in which states manage their funds.

“The change in finances in a changing world is not just the result of innovation, but a response to new the challenges appearing on the global scene. One of the most important factors shaping financial systems are the technological advances which have led to the digitisation of financial services enabling a speedier, easier and more accessible money management”, said Arsic. He opined that the changes in global finances in a changing world are the results of the complex interaction of technology, globalisation, ecological challenges and social needs, and with it in technology, especially in the form of cryptocurrencies and digitisation which on the one hand enabled an easier access to capital, and brought with them bigger risks on the other.
