Talking to the chairman of the Committee on Defence and Security, Dragan Sutanovac, on 3 April 2003, Mr. Vundrak also expressed his country’s support to activities undertaken by the Serbian Ministry of the Interior in combating organised crime.

Chairman of the Committee on Defence and Security, Dragan Sutanovac, said that the fight against organised crime was the Serbian Government's current priority, that the Government would persevere in its course and that it had the full support of the international community. He also quoted data according to which more than seventy percent of the Serbian public support the state of emergency, which is a result of their being acquainted with the results achieved by officers of the Serbian Ministry of the Interior. According to Sutanovac, the participation of the public in the fight against organised crime is contributing to the results of the Serbian Ministry of the Interior, since much useful information was obtained through phone calls made by members of the public.

The meeting also discussed international organised crime and the need for international co-operation and joint actions in combating this form of crime.
