Fifth Sitting of the Committee on Spatial Planning, Transport, Infrastructure and Telecommunications

At the sitting held on 3 March 2021, the members of the Committee on Spatial Planning, Transport, Infrastructure and Telecommunications considered the Proposal of the Decision on the Election of Chairman, Deputy Chairman and Members of the Regulatory Authority for Electronic Media and Postal Services Managing Board, submitted by the Government.

Committee Chairperson Katarina Rakic said that the Law on Electronic Communications stipulates that the Chairman, Deputy Chairman and members of the Regulatory Authority for Electronic Media and Postal Services Managing Board are elected and dismissed by the National Assembly, at the Government’s proposal, based on a conducted public call.

Rakic reminded the Committee members that the National Assembly had adopted the Decision on the Election of Chairman, Deputy Chairman and Members of the Regulatory Authority for Electronic Media and Postal Services Managing Board on 3 March 2016.

In view of the fact that their term of office was coming to an end on 3 March 2021, Rakic said that the competent Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications had called a public competition within the appropriate deadline and after the competition was conducted the Government ascertained the Proposal of the Decision on the Election of Chairman, Deputy Chairman and Members of the Regulatory Authority for Electronic Media and Postal Services Managing Board.

Said Decision Proposal was then presented by Milos Cvetanovic, State Secretary at the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications, after which the Committee members ruled to accept it.

The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairperson Katarina Rakic and attended by the following Committee members and deputy members: Bojan Torbica, Snezana Petrovic, Daniel Gyivánovity, MA Slavenko Unkovic, Nikola Vojinovic, Milosav Milojevic, Ugljesa Markovic, Ana Carapic, Maja Grbic, Rajka Matovic, Veroljub Matic, Adrijana Pupovac and Ivana Nikolic.
