Dubravka Filipovski Takes Part in 10th IPTP Meeting Attended by 50 Parliamentarians from Around the World

At the 10th meeting of the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace (IPTP), held in Morocco, on 12-15 July 2022, under the auspices of the Peace Cultivating Committee, MP Dubravka Filipovski stressed how important it is to support the parliamentarians within this organisation, because their activities make a significant contribution to the promotion of peace and tolerance in the world.

"It is very important that we have common goals at the global level so that we can successfully implement them at the regional and local level for the benefit of all people.

I would especially like to emphasise the need to resolve all disputed issues in the world through dialogue, not with arms. As civilians suffer the most in every war, it is important that all countries are open to refugees and exiles and provide them with support. Serbia is a country that understands their suffering perfectly. Let me remind you that isolation of a society and sanctions do not do anyone any good.

Also, we need to give young people the opportunity to connect, share new ideas and express their abilities, as well as provide them with adequate education programmes.

We are here on the same mission, which is to help ensure that equality between men and women does not remain just so many empty words. That is why the exchange of experiences is of inestimable importance. Every country must take care of women's health, education, economic empowerment, fight against violence, as well as the inclusion of women in social and public life. Without it, there is no progress, both for the individual and for society as a whole.

I come from a country where gender budgeting (allocating more money in the budget for women) has produced excellent results in the development of female entrepreneurship. I advocate for equal pay for equal work for women and men and for women to be more involved in peace processes in crisis areas in the world. Security and climate change are special challenges that all countries in the world face equally. Answers to those challenges are the key to survival and future development", stressed Filipovski in her speech.
