Coordinator of Focus Group for Monitoring Implementation of Sustainable Development Goals at Meeting of Inter-Ministerial Working Group for Implementation of United Nations 2030 Agenda

Dr Milorad Mijatovic attended the meeting of the Inter-Ministerial Working Group for the Implementation of the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development on 22 June in Vrdnik.

He was also one of the keynote speakers, in addition to Minister without portfolio and Head of the Inter-Ministerial Working Group Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic Dejanovic, special counsel to the Minister of European Integration Prof. Dr Jelica Stambuk and representative of the UN Serbia Office Borka Jeremic.

In the course of his speech Dr Mijatovic emphasized how important it is that the governmental bodies and the Parliament cooperate on the implementation of the sustainable development goals adding that the Parliament is ready to support as well as monitor the implementation process. The people’s well-being and uniform and sustainable development of Serbia are the common goal here, said Dr Mijatovic. In the course of the meeting the officials exchanged opinions how best to bring the sustainable development goals closer to the local authorities and the citizens and advance communication between the carriers of the process.

The meeting was attended by representatives of all the relevant ministries and Government offices included in the implementation process.
