Business Registers Agency’s Work Presented to MPs

Today, at the National Assembly House, the Committee on Finance, State Budget and Control of Public Spending organised a presentation on the Business Registers Agency (BRA), as an administrative and electronic service for the citizens and the economy.


National Assembly Secretary General Jana Ljubicic was pleased that the MPs’ would be able to learn about the Agency’s work, the services and opportunities it offers to the citizens and state authorities. The Secretary General said that the Agency was established in 2004 by the Business Registers Agency Law.

Vladimir Marinkovic, deputy member of the Committee on Finance, State Budget and Control of Public Spending, said that the BRA is a very important institution which has achieved excellent results. The time it takes to register an enterprise has been shortened, and registry expenses were also cut which is conducive to the business ambient and attracts numerous domestic and foreign investors, said Marinkovic.

Zvonko Obradovic, Director of the Business Registers Agency, presented the Agency’s organisation, scope and work principles to the MPs. He said that the BRA services a considerable number of institutions on a daily basis, and its webpage is visited by more than 50,000 citizens every day. According to the World Bank report measuring the ease of doing business, Serbia had progressed by nine positions compared to last year, said Obradovic, deeming that the Agency had greatly contributed to that progress.

Miladin Maglov, status registers registrar, presented the registers of companies, tourism, public media and bankruptcy assets. Maglov stressed that all the registers are conceived as electronic databases and the BRA is not in the possession of confidential data and data that should not be published, which is essential for promoting the legal safety of the Serbian business environment.
