Today, at the National Assembly House, the Agriculture Committee members had an educational meeting with the representatives of the Twinning project, German experts for food safety and animal welfare legislation and the representatives of the Veterinary Directorate of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management. At the meeting, they exchanged information on the harmonization of laws from the field of food safety and veterinary practice with European Union regulations.

Twinning project representatives, Dr Joachim Borowka, expert in food safety legislation and member of the EU expert group charged with harmonizing regulations in this field, Bernhard Polten, animal welfare expert and Ruth Schuenemann, project advisor, took part in the meeting.

Committee Deputy Chairman Sinisa Stamenkovic and Committee members Milutin Jelicic, Zoran Nikolic, Arpad Fremond and Munir Poturak participated in the discussion which followed the exchange of information from the field.

Director Zoran Micovic and the heads of the Department for Veterinary Public Health Slobodan Sibalic, Animal Health and Welfare Department Budimir Plavsic and Department for International Trade and Cooperation Sinisa Kotur, talked on the behalf of the Veterinary Directorate.
