38th Sitting of the Committee on Administrative, Budgetary, Mandate and Immunity Issues

At the sitting held on 15 September 2021, the members of the Committee on Administrative, Budgetary, Mandate and Immunity Issues ascertained the Proposal of Decision amending and modifying the Decision on the adoption of the MPs’ Code of Conduct.

The Committee adopted the Committee Chairman’s proposal to amend Article 23 of the Code; the proposal to add to Article 23e, paragraph 1 of the submitted text, following the word "resignation", the words: "for the reasons stated in Article 23, paragraph 2"; Committee Chairman’s proposal to delete the words in Article 23h of the submitted text: "if they become member of a political party i.e. political entity, or if it is determined that they have violated this Code" and Chairman’s proposal to add a new paragraph, paragraph 6, to Article 5 of the submitted text reading: "The opinion of the Commission on the breach of Code shall be published on the website of the National Assembly."

The Committee adopted the Proposal that the Decision Proposal be considered by urgent procedure at the National Assembly session and for entry into force earlier than the eighth day from the day of its publication.

This Decision shall enter into force one day after its publication in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Serbia.

The Committee Chairman stated that the National Assembly had received a request from the Government of the Republic of Serbia to amend the MPs’ Code of Conduct as soon as possible, in accordance with GRECO's recommendations.

The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairman Dr Aleksandar Martinovic, and attended by the following Committee members and deputy members: Dr Sci.med. Darko Laketic, Zeljko Tomic, Luka Kebara, Dr Nina Pavicevic, Branimir Spasic, Djordje Milicevic, Dr Dragana Barisic, Branimir Jovanovic and Ivana Nikolic.
