28th Sitting of the Culture and Information Committee
At the sitting held on 25 June, the Culture and Information Committee deliberated on the Bill amending and modifying the Law on Public Information and Media, submitted by the Government, in principle.
The sitting was attended by Minister of Culture and Media Ivan Tasovac who said that one of the Government’s strategic goals is to have the state withdraw from the media ownership structure and that the deadline for the privatisation of the media is 31 October 2015.
Following a short discussion, the Committee members decided, by majority vote, to propose that the National Assembly accept the Bill amending and modifying the Law on Public Information and Media.
The sitting was also attended by Privatisation Agency Director Ljubomir Subara.
The sitting was chaired by Committee Deputy Chairman Aleksandar Jugovic.
