23rd Meeting of National Assembly Economic Caucus
At its 23rd meeting, the National Assembly Economic Caucus reviewed the amendment proposals to the Advertising Bill.
Greeting the assembly, the Head of the Economic Caucus Prof. Dr Vladimir Marinkovic stressed that the role of the Economic Caucus is be the conduit of communication between the representatives of entrepreneurs and the relevant ministries and ensure the drafting of high quality legislation.
Speaking of the Advertising Bill, Assistant Minister ofTrade, Tourism and Telecommunications Jovan Stojic said that Serbia has had a law on advertising since 2005, but in the intervening 10 years the market has changed, primarily due to digitalisation. He added that the new bill offers the first ever regulations for advertising over the Internet and advertising of electronic cigarettes, and it also regulates the advertising of alcoholic drinks in view of the arrival of beverages with low alcohol content.
The representatives of entrepreneurs Milos Stojkovic and Milica Stefanovic presented the 31 amendments submitted to the Bill by the MPs, members of the Economic Caucus. The Ministry ofTrade, Tourism and Telecommunications accepted the proposed amendments.
Economic Caucus member Katarina Rakic, NALED representatives Jelena Bojovic and Dragana Ilic, and Slobodanka Cucic of Apatin Brewery commented on the Advertising Bill.
Besides the Head of the Economic Caucus Prof. Dr Vladimir Marinkovic, the meeting was also attended by Economic Caucus members Katarina Rakic, MA Dejan Radenkovic, Nemanja Nikolic, Milosav Milojevic, MP Srdjan Dragojevic, as well as representatives of the Ministry ofTrade, Tourism and Telecommunications, NALED and entrepreneurs.
