Third Meeting of National Assembly Economic Caucus

At the meeting, held on 22 May 2023, the National Assembly Economic Caucus was addressed by Randy Scheunemann, member of the Board of Directors of the International Republican Institute (IRI), who shared his rich work experience about the influence of business and foreign interests on the work of the US Congress and also spoke of the US foreign policy towards Serbia and the Western Balkans.

He particularly emphasised the importance of the control role of the Parliament and its working bodies, pointing out that parliamentarians as directly elected representatives are closest to the citizens. He also shared his experiences of the Congress’ work related to connecting with the business world.

The members of the Caucus and NALED and IRI representatives went on to analyse and propose solutions to the Draft Law amending and modifying the Law on the Procedure of Registration in the Real Estate Cadastre and Utility Cadastre and the Draft Law amending and modifying the Law on State Survey and Cadastre, as well as ascertained amendment proposals for the Bill amending and modifying the Law on Planning and Construction.

The meeting was chaired by MA Ninoslav Eric, Head of the National Assembly Economic Caucus.
