15th Sitting of the Committee on the Judiciary, Public Administration and Local Self-Government

At the sitting held on 14 December, the Committee on the Judiciary, Public Administration and Local Self-Government considered, in principle, four of the bills included in the agenda for the Ninth Sitting of the Second Regular Session of the National Assembly in 2012.


viz. the Bill amending and modifying the Criminal Code, Bill amending and modifying the Criminal Procedure Code, Bill amending the Law on Public Prosecution and the Bill amending the Law on Judges, which were elaborated by Danilo Nikolic, State Secretary at the Ministry of Justice and Public Administration.
Nikolic stressed that the proposed amendments and modification harmonise these acts with the regulations and recommendations of the European Union and regulate some criminal offenses more closely.
The Committee accepted the Bills in principle, with some comments and suggestions.
In addition, the Committee accepted the Bill on the Confirmation of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Government of the Slovak Republic on Reciprocal Protection of Classified Information.
At the sitting, the Committee also formulated the proposal of conclusions as regards its deliberation on: the Ombudsman’s 2011 Regular Annual Report, Anti-Corruption Agency's 2011 Annual Activity Report, Report on the implementation of the Law on Free Access to Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection Law in 2011, Equality Protection Commissioner’s 2011 Regular Annual Report, High Judicial Council’s 2011 Activity Report and the Report on the activities of public prosecutor’s offices on the suppression of crime and protection of constitutionality and legality in 2011.

The sitting was chaired by Petar Petrovic, Committee Chairman.
