13th Sitting of the Health and Family Committee

At the sitting held on 24 January, the Health and Family Committee reviewed the Serbian Health Council 2016 Activity Report.


Serbian Health Council President Prof. Dr Dragan Micic presented the Serbian Health Council 2016 Activity Report, saying that in the course of 2016 the Serbian Health Council had adopted its own Rules of Procedure and set up two working groups: Working Group for the programme of health care system development and Working Group for continuing education, and had numerous consultations and meetings with the Ministry of Health and chambers of health care professionals and associates concerning continuing education. He stated that the Working Group for the programme of health care system development had compiled a list of relevant international documents which, along with national documents, are to be the starting point for the improvement of the health care system, adding that these activities are part of the Serbian Health Council 2016 Work Plan and after an analysis of the general population’s health and the health care system the Working Group would draft a document to serve as a framework for the development of the health care system.

Meho Mahmutovic, State Secretary at the Ministry of Health, said that the Ministry would spare no effort to help improve the quality of healthcare across the board.

Committee Chairman Dr Sci. med Darko Laketic said that it is essential to secure the optimal conditions for the Council’s operation, adding that intensive cooperation contributes to the quality of health care.

The Committee went on to accept the Serbian Health Council 2016 Activity Report.

The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairman Dr Sci. med Darko Laketic, and attended by the following Committee members and deputy members: Dr Radoslav Jovic, Dr Muamer Bacevac, Prim. Dr Milovan Krivokapic, Vladimir Djuric, Dr Svetlana Nikolic Pavlovic, Prof. Dr Dusan Milisavljevic, Dr Danica Bukvic, Dr Dragana Barisic, Dr Desanka Repac, Dragan Vesovic, Dr Ljubica Mrdakovic Todorovic and Danijela Stojadinovic.
