Young Swedish Diplomats Visit National Assembly

In the course of their visit to the National Assembly House, organised by the Swedish Embassy, a group of young Swedish diplomats met with the members of the National Assembly’s Foreign Affairs Committee and the members of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with Sweden.

Foreign Affairs Committee Deputy Chairperson Irena Vujovic welcomed the Swedish guests, saying that Serbia and Sweden had always enjoyed good and friendly relations. Vujovic expressed gratitude for the help Sweden offers to Serbia’s Euro-integration efforts, emphasising the importance of the two countries’ economic cooperation which could be improved by Swedish companies’ venturing into Serbia.
Milorad Mijatovic, Head of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with Sweden, said that he valued Sweden’s support of Serbia’s efforts toward being granted a start date for the EU talks, adding that he hoped for more intensive economic cooperation.
Introducing themselves, the young diplomats from Sweden thanked their hosts for the welcome, saying that they were pleased to be visiting the National Assembly. They applauded the acceptance of the Brussels agreement and the effort Serbia put into finding a peaceful solution for the relations between Belgrade and Pristina.
The members of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with Sweden Milanka Jevtovic Vukojcic, Pavle Markov, Ljubica Milosevic, Slavica Savic and Prof. Dr Ljubisa Stojmirovic also took part in the meeting.
