Twentieth Sitting of the Committee on Urban Planning and Construction

At its twentieth sitting, held on 21 December, the Committee on Urban Planning and Construction considered the amendments submitted to the Bill amending the Law on Housing and the Bill amending the Law on Stimulating the Construction Industry of the Republic of Serbia in response to the new Conditions of the Economic Crisis.


The MPs had submitted two amendments to the Bill amending the Law on Housing. The Government and the Committee accepted neither of the amendments.

The Government and the Committee accepted neither of the two amendments submitted to the Bill amending the Law on Stimulating the Construction Industry of the Republic of Serbia in response to the new Conditions of the Economic Crisis.

The Committee members also considered, in principle, the Bill on the 2012 Budget of the Republic of Serbia, Section 23, Ministry of Environment, Mining and Spatial Planning, elaborated by Nemanja Komazec, State Secretary at the Ministry of Environment, Mining and Spatial Planning. The funds allocated for function 620 in section 23 relating to spatial planning amount to slightly more that 2 billion 158 million RSD, with the transfer of funds for the drafting of utility infrastructure projects and planning documentation being among the most important items. Komazec stated that the Ministry would continue to subsidize housing loans in 2012, as well as stimulate the construction sector. Komazec added that, in 2012, the Ministry would commence the construction of social housing the funds for which would be secured from loans.

The Committee members accepted the Bill on the 2012 Budget of the Republic of Serbia, Section 23, Ministry of Environment, Mining and Spatial Planning, in principle.

The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairman Jovan Nesovic.
