At the sitting held on 14 February, the Industry Committee members considered the Information on the Activities of the Ministry of Energy and Mining in 2010.

The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairman Milorad Buha and attended by Minister of Energy and Mining Petar Skundric and associates.

Minister Skundric presented the Information to the Committee members stressing that the Ministry of Energy and Mining had met all of its basic tasks and objectives in 2010, supplying Serbia with a steady flow of energy and fuels. Skundric added that providing the legal framework aimed at better business transactions and operation is one of their strategic goals. He also announced a new Energy Law which already exists as a draft and has gone through an expert public debate in Novi Sad, Kragujevac, Nis and Belgrade.

Debating the item on the agenda, the Committee members exchanged opinions on the activities of the Ministry of Energy and Mining in 2010 and asked Minister Skundric numerous questions.

The Committee members went on to consider the initiative of the Centre for the Development of International Cooperation to create a task group for the drafting of the Energy Security Strategy of the Republic of Serbia by 2025.
