Thirty-Seventh Sitting of the Committee on Health and the Family

At the sitting held on 3 November, the members Committee on Health and the Family considered the Bill amending and modifying the Health Care Law, on the particulars.

The deputies had submitted a total of 12 amendments to the Bill. The Government and the Committee accepted none of the submitted amendments.

The Committee members shall vote on the amendments submitted to the Proposal of the Decision on the Plan of Health Care Development in the Republic of Serbia, in the continuation of the sitting, on Tuesday, 9 November 2010.

By the end of the sitting, the Committee Chairman had briefed the Committee members on the Medical Academy’s memo on which the Committee is to vote in the continuation of the sitting. Committee member Predrag Mijatovic reminded the Committee members that he had resigned his membership in the Health and the Family Committee’s Civic Petitions Commission. The Committee members agreed to appoint a new member to the Commission in the continuation of the sitting, as well as that the newly-appointed member be a Committee member from the opposition deputy groups.

The sitting was chaired by Dr Paja Momcilov, Committee Chairman.

In the continuation on 9 November, the Committee members considered the Proposal of the Decision on the Plan of Health Care Development in the Republic of Serbia, on the particulars. The deputies submitted a total of 8 amendments to the Decision Proposal. The Government and the Committee accepted 2 and rejected 6 of the amendments.

The Committee members agreed to elect the new, third member of the Health and the Family Committee’s Civic Petitions Commission at the next sitting, and that the newly-appointed member be a Committee member from the opposition deputy groups.

Committee member Dr Nikola Krpic briefed the Committee on the current health situation in post-earthquake Kraljevo. Dr Krpic stated that the Internal Medicine Ward of the Hospital in Kraljevo was evacuated, and the building of the Kraljevo Public Health Institute suffered permanent damage.

The sitting was chaired by Committee Deputy Chairman Simo Vukovic.
