Third Sitting of the Security Services Control Committee

At its third sitting, held on 20 October 2022 and closed to the public, the Security Services Control Committee considered and adopted the regular reports of the Inspector General of the Ministry of Defence Services covering the period from 1 July 2021 to 30 June 2022.


In the reporting period the Inspector General of the Ministry of Defence Services conducted regular inspections in the headquarters of both agencies, as well as the centres of the Military Security Agency and Military Intelligence Agency.

In the reporting period the Inspector General of the Ministry of Defence Services conducted supervision over the legality of the application of special procedures and measures for secret data collection, as well as supervision over the legality of the spending of budgetary and other funds for work of the centres of the Military Security Agency and Military Intelligence Agency, as well as the legality and regularity of the implementation security checks by the Military Security Agency.

During the supervision, in the inspected cases, the Inspector General of the Ministry of Defence Services did not notice any illegalities or irregularities in the work of the agencies, and also found that the budgetary funds were spent in accordance with the plans and regulations.

The Committee welcomed the positive assessments of the legality and regularity of the work of the Ministry of Defence security services presented by the Inspector General of the Ministry of Defence Services for the reporting period.

The Committee members noted that the past practice of extremely good cooperation with the Inspector General has proved to be mutually beneficial and that this cooperation would continue in the future, especially in terms of monitoring the legality of the implementation of special procedures and measures of confidential data collection.

The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairman MA Igor Becic, and attended by the following Committee members and deputy members: Aleksandar Mirkovic, Nevena Djuric, Nenad Tomasevic, Nikola Dragicevic, Aleksandar Markovic, Ugljesa Markovic, Pavle Grbovic and Sinisa Kovacevic.
