Statement by Serbian Delegation to SAPC Deputy Head Sandra Bozic

The Deputy Head of the Serbian delegation to SAPC Sandra Bozic expressed her regret for not adopting the joint declaration at the 15th meeting of the European Union-Serbia Stabilisation and Association Parliamentary Committee (SAPC).

"I would like to express my sincerest regrets that we did not adopt a joint declaration this year, since the co-chairs Moretti and Tepic were not interested despite the proposal we submitted. We did not receive any response to this proposal, so the question is what happened to it.

I am sorry that we did not note the progress that the co-chairs claim has not been achieved since 2021 and which does not include the sets of judicial laws that were passed as part of the judicial reform or the agreements that were passed as part of the Berlin Process, even though this progress is precisely what co-chair Moretti noted at the meeting with the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Vladimir Orlic.

Given that we did not have a joint declaration, we did not even have the opportunity to condemn the violence and repression against the Serbian population in Kosovo-Metohija, a fact also noted by the MEPs at the joint meeting.

While in Belgrade everyone can express their protest, can walk, can block the highway, in Kosovo-Metohija Serbs are shot even when they sit peacefully in front of the municipalities occupied by Albin Kurti. Such a thing is unthinkable anywhere in Europe, a thing also unequivocally noted by most parliamentarians. And if anything deserves to be mentioned today, it is the situation in Kosovo-Metohija.

We consider it particularly worrying that the two co-chairs, Alessandra Moretti and Marinika Tepic, have obviously concluded that this very issue is of no importance," said Sandra Bozic.
