Sixty-First Sitting of the Committee on Science and Technological Development

At the sixty-first sitting held on 4 October, the Committee on Science and Technological Development considered the Information on the activities of the Ministry of Education and Science for period April – June 2011, field of science.


The sitting was attended by Prof. Dr Radivoje Mitrovic, State Secretary at the Ministry of Education and Science and Prof. Dr Tibor Sabo, Assistant Minister of Education and Science.

Presenting the Ministry Information, Prof. Dr Radivoje Mitrovic stressed that the quarterly period saw the continuation of the drafting of the Rulebook on procedure and manner of evaluation and quantitative expression of scientific research results. In addition, the Ministry continued to implement the stimulation and scholarship programme for youth and research talents, as well as the Programme of project subsidies for doctoral studies.

After the presentation, the Committee members and Ministry representatives discussed the university education system, social effects of investment into education and science, as well as the need to establish better ties between science and the economy.

The members of the Committee on Science and Technological Development unanimously adopted the Information on the activities of the Ministry of Education and Science for period April – June 2011, field of science.

In the continuation, Committee Chairman Srboljub Zivanovic asked the Ministry representatives for Information on the annex to the low-power part of the TESLA accelerator installation and the production of radiopharmaceuticals at the X4 facility of the TESLA accelerator installation so that the Committee might be able to hold one more sitting to discuss the work of the Vinca Institute of Nuclear Sciences.
