Sixth Sitting of the Security Services Control Committee

At the sixth sitting, held on 25 February 2021, the Security Services Control Committee considered and adopted the Security Information Agency activity reports for the period up to 30 September 2020, as well as the report on the security situation in the Republic of Serbia for the period up to 25 October 2020.


The reports cover all of the Agency’s most significant activities in the reporting period, providing a comprehensive insight into the Agency’s work and a complete overview of the implemented activities and tasks within the Agency’s purview. In the reporting period, data were collected and analysed on all phenomena that have affected and will affect the security, political, economic and health situation at the national, regional and global levels. The security situation in the Republic of Serbia was found to be stable, despite the country’s continuous exposure to various security risks and threats.

The Agency Director informed the members of the Committee about the activities the Agency undertook in the previous period to shed light on certain cases of importance for the security of the Republic of Serbia. The Committee members praised the work of the Agency and its members, pointing out that they expected the members of the Agency to continue to perform their duties and tasks on preserving the country’s constitutional order with dedication and professionalism.

In the reporting period, in addition to its engagement in the protection of vital interests of the Republic of Serbia and counteraction of key security risks and threats, the Agency also made a significant contribution to the state’s effective response to the current pandemic and managed to operate efficiently and protect the health and lives of its members in the complex circumstances.

The Committee members welcomed the Agency’s efforts to continuously coordinate activities with all relevant state institutions and improve the existing coordinated cooperation with the other security services of the Republic of Serbia so as to establish a functional and operational network and implement tasks at hand. They also praised the intensive cooperation with other state bodies, as well as the continuous international cooperation with partner services.

The sitting, closed to the public, was chaired by Committee Chairman MA Igor Becic, and attended by the following Committee members and deputy members: Aleksandar Markovic, Slavisa Bulatovic, Milimir Vujadinovic, Borisav Kovacevic, Ilija Zivotic and Justina Pupin Koscal.
