Sixth Sitting of the Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Committee

At the sitting held on 19 April 2021, the members of the Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Committee reviewed the Bill amending and modifying the Republic of Serbia 2021 Budget Law, Section 24 - Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management, submitted by the Government.

Mirjana Lukic, representative of the Ministry of Finance, said that by the rebalance the budget allocated for the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management has been increased by more than 5.5 billion RSD, which is 10.43% more than the initially adopted budget for the Ministry

Senad Mahmutovic, State Secretary at the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management, said that of the majority of the additional 5.5 billion RSD has been ear-marked for the Administration for Agrarian Payments for agricultural subsidies. With the proposed amendments, the Ministry’s proportion of the total tax income is to be 5%, as stipulated by the law. Investments and subventions make up 95% of the allocated funds, 80% of which are to be channelled toward the Administration for Agrarian Payments., said Mahmutovic.

Following a lengthy debate, the Committee unanimously adopted the Bill amending and modifying the Republic of Serbia 2021 Budget Law, Section 24 - Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management.

The Committee went on to discuss the current situation in agriculture with the Ministry representatives, after which is adopted a Conclusion.

At the proposal of the Chairman of the Subcommittee for Monitoring the Agricultural Situation in Marginal - Least Developed Areas of the Republic of Serbia - Areas with Difficult Working Conditions in Agriculture Milija Miletic, the Committee included MP Goran Spasojevic in its composition.

The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairman Marijan Risticevic and attended by the following Committee members and deputy members: Olja Petrovic, Velibor Stanojlovic, Goran Spasojevic, Goran Kovacevic, Nenad Filipovic, Milija Miletic, Stanislava Janosevic, Prof. Dr Ljubinko Rakonjac, Arpad Fremond, Nikola Kozovic, Dijana Radovic, Sonja Todorovic, Veroljub Matic, Tijana Davidovac and Zarko Bogatinovic.
