Sixteenth Sitting of the Foreign Affairs Committee

At the sitting held on 11 February, the members of the Foreign Affairs Committee accepted a number of initiatives for the participation of National Assembly delegations in the activities of international organisations in February and March this year.



At the sitting held on 11 February, the members of the Foreign Affairs Committee accepted a number of initiatives for the participation of National Assembly delegations in the activities of international organisations in February and March this year. The sitting was chaired by Prof. Dr Dragoljub Micunovic, Committee Chairman.

The Foreign Committee accepted an invitation to send a delegation to the Czech Republic between 21 and 24 February and determined the composition of said delegation. In addition, it accepted an invitation extended to the National Assembly’s Standing Delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly to participate in the session of the Subcommittee on Transatlantic Issues of the NATO PA Political Committee, which would be held in Tirana from 1 to 3 March.

The Committee also accepted an invitation extended to the National Assembly’s Standing Delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly to take part in the 73rd Rose-Roth Seminar, to be held in Yerevan between 11 and 13 March. The members of the National Assembly’s Standing Delegation to the Inter-Parliamentary Union would take part in the 122nd session of the IPU Assembly in Bangkok, between 27 March and 1 April. They also accepted the invitation to send the head of the National Assembly’s Standing Delegation at the PA of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation to the joint meeting organised by PABSEC and Organisation of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation, in Istanbul from 29 to 30 March.

At the sitting, the Committee also accepted several reports on visits and contacts realised between Serbian parliamentarians and foreign parliamentary delegations and diplomatic representatives.

Under item – Parliamentary Friendship Groups, the Committee members appointed Meho Omerovic president of the Friendship Group with the Parliament of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic president of the Friendship Group with Portugal, Nikola Lazic president of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with Spain and Donka Banovic president of the Friendship Group with Slovakia. The Committee endorsed the initiative to create parliamentary friendship groups with Tunisia and Syria.
