Situation in Kosovo-Metohija Topic of Meeting with Dora Bakoyannis
On the sidelines of the meeting of the Committee on Political Affairs and Democracy of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, on 26 May 2025, the delegation of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia met with Greek MP Dora Bakoyannis, author of the report recommending acceptance of so-called "Kosovo’s" bid for membership in the Council of Europe.
The talks focused on the situation in the southern province, with particular emphasis on the daily challenges faced by the Serbian population. The parliamentarians also discussed the broader political and security context, as well as issues related to respect for fundamental rights and the functioning of institutions.
The assessment that the situation on the ground is deteriorating in several segments represented a common framework of understanding within this conversation.
