Serbian National Assembly Delegation at NATO PA Session in Dayton

The Head of the standing delegation of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, Prof. Dr Zoran Dragisic, and delegation members Natasa Jovanovic, Goran Rakic and Ivan Karic, are taking part in the NATO Parliamentary Assembly Spring Session, in Dayton, USA, from 21 to 26 May 2025.

In the meeting with Political Committee rapporteur Tomas Valasek, the members of the delegation of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia presented a number of suggestions for the report "Western Balkans: 30 years since the signing of the Dayton Accords", primarily related to the very difficult position of the Serbian and other non-Albanian population in Kosovo-Metohija. Delegation Head Prof. Dr Zoran Dragisic, recalled that United Nations Security Council Resolution 1244 clearly defines the position of Kosovo-Metohija as an integral part of the Republic of Serbia under temporary international administration. Delegation member Natasa Jovanovic pointed out that Albin Kurti is carrying out open terror against the Serbian people and is continuously trampling on all the provisions of the Brussels Agreement.

Goran Rakic informed the rapporteur about the current situation in the field, including the series of unilateral moves carried out almost daily by Pristina. He reminded the official that after twelve years since the signing of the Brussels Agreement, there is no establishment of the Community of Serbian Municipalities, assessing that Serbs today live as if in a ghetto. He appealed to the international community, especially the EU, as a guarantor of the implementation of the Brussels Agreement, to condemn the institutional violence carried out by Pristina, as well as to prevent the closure of Serbian institutions.

Valasek thanked the delegation for the suggestions, saying that they would be considered in detail when drafting the final version of the report.

During the consideration of the report of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly's Defence and Security Committee, delegation member Natasa Jovanovic reminded that KFOR units can be the only legal armed formations in the territory of Kosovo-Metohija, and that providing advice or any assistance to KFOR in the formation of the so-called Kosovo Security Forces is a blatant violation of UN Security Council Resolution 1244.

In addition, the members of the delegation of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia monitor the work of the panels held within the framework of the Dayton Dialogue.
