Second Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia During the State of Emergency

The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Maja Gojkovic convened the Second Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia during the state of emergency, for Wednesday, 6 May, starting at 10 am.


The following agenda was set for the session:

  1. Proposal of the Decision on the Abolition of the State of Emergency, submitted by the Government, and

  2. Bill on the validity of the decrees the Government, co-signed by the President of the Republic, adopted during the state of emergency and confirmed by the National Assembly, submitted by the Government.
The National Assembly accepted the proposal of National Assembly Speaker Maja Gojkovic to complete a joint single debate on both items on the agenda.

The session was attended by Prime Minister Ana Brnabic and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic.

The National Assembly conducted and concluded the joint single debate on the Proposal of the Decision on the Abolition of the State of Emergency and the Bill on the validity of the decrees the Government, co-signed by the President of the Republic, adopted during the state of emergency and confirmed by the National Assembly, submitted by the Government, presented by Prime Minister Ana Brnabic as representative of the submitter.

As the National Assembly had completed the debate all the items on the agenda, National Assembly Speaker Maja Gojkovic set Wednesday, 6 May, as Voting Day on all the items on the agenda of the Second Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia during the state of emergency, starting at 8.45 pm.

Voting Day

On Voting Day, 6 May, by majority vote, the National Assembly adopted the Proposal of the Decision on the Abolition of the State of Emergency and the Bill on the validity of the decrees the Government, co-signed by the President of the Republic, adopted during the state of emergency and confirmed by the National Assembly, submitted by the Government.

On Voting Day, the National Assembly also ruled on the violations of the Rules of Procedure the MPs complained of in the course of the session and decided that none of the provisions of the Rules of Procedure had been violated.

As the National Assembly had completed the debate on all the items on the agenda and ruled on them, National Assembly Speaker Maja Gojkovic concluded the Second Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia during the state of emergency.
