At the 11th meeting, the first under the Romanian chairmanship, the Working Group members, MPs and national coordinators – regional parliamentary staff, discussed the institutionalisation process and establishment of the SEECP Parliamentary Assembly structure.
The meeting focused on harmonising the draft Rules of Procedure and the Parliamentary Assembly secretariat model which is to have its inauguration session in late May - early June 2014 in Bucharest. The Working Group was tasked with harmonising all the documents necessary for the establishment of the Parliamentary Assembly with the decisions made at the Conference of SEECP participant states’ parliament speakers in June 2013 in Ohrid, which National Assembly Speaker Dr Nebojsa Stefanovic took part in.
The Working Group noted that the draft Rules of Procedure have been harmonised by consensus and all the outstanding issues as regards the establishment of the SEECP Parliamentary Assembly Secretariat would be discussed at the next Working Group meeting, in February 2014.
