SAPC Members Meet with Berlin Parliament Delegation
The Chairman and members of the Stabilisation and Association Parliamentary Committee (SAPC) met today at the National Assembly with a delegation of Berlin parliament members visiting Serbia.
Tim-Christopher Zeelen, heading the German delegation, said that successful bilateral relations could be advanced through closer cooperation between Serbian and German cities at the economic and cultural level. Speaking of Serbia’s European integration, he underlined the importance of the widespread popular support of the process.
The parliamentarians also spoke about the biggest challenges for Serbia in its integration process, dialogue with Pristina and the position of Serbs in Kosovo-Metohija, as well as local and global security challenges. The SAPC members briefed the German delegation about the difficulties of the Serbian community in Kosovo-Metohija, preservation of Serbian cultural heritage on the territory of the Autonomous Province and the need for Pristina to abide by the assumed obligations, first and foremost the formation of the Community of Serb Municipalities. The members of the German delegation said they wished to see lasting stability in the Western Balkan Region.
The meeting with the delegation of the Berlin Parliament was attended by the following SAPC members: Veroljub Arsic, Prof. Dr Ljubisa Stojmirovic, Dr Aleksandra Tomic, Jasmina Nikolic and Marijan Risticevic.
