Ninth Sitting of the Committee on the Judiciary, Public Administration and Local Self-Government

At the sitting held on 1 December 2025, the Committee on the Judiciary, Public Administration and Local Self-Government considered the reports of the Republic Public Prosecutor’s Office - Report on the public prosecutor’s offices’ activity on the suppression of criminality and protection of constitutionality in 2020, 2021 and 2022; and the Supreme Public Prosecutor’s Office - Report on the public prosecutor’s offices’ activity on the suppression of criminality and protection of constitutionality in 2023 and 2024.


The reports of the Republic Public Prosecutor’s Office and the Supreme Public Prosecutor’s Office were presented by public prosecutors of the Supreme Public Prosecutor's Office Zorica Stojsic, Tamara Mirovic and Miljko Radisavljevic.

After discussion, the Committee concluded with 11 votes in favour that the Republic Public Prosecutor, in the public prosecutors' offices activity reports on the suppression of criminality and protection of constitutionality in 2020, 2021 and 2022, did not comprehensively present the activities of public prosecutors' offices that arise from the position of the prosecutor's office as an independent body that prosecutes perpetrators of criminal and other punishable acts and undertakes measures to protect constitutionality and legality, as established by the Constitution and the Law, and the Committee proposes that the National Assembly not to accept these reports and that Committee Chairman Dr Ugljesa Mrdic be appointed Committee rapporteur at the National Assembly session.

Also, with 11 votes in favour, the Committee noted that the Supreme Public Prosecutor, in the reports on the activity of public prosecutors' offices on the suppression of criminality and protection of constitutionality in 2023 and 2024, did not comprehensively present the activities of public prosecutors' offices that arise from the position of the prosecutor's office as an independent body that prosecutes perpetrators of criminal and other punishable acts and takes measures to protect constitutionality and legality, as established by the Constitution and the Law, and the Committee proposes that the National Assembly not to accept these reports and that Committee Chairman Dr Ugljesa Mrdic, be appointed Committee rapporteur at the National Assembly session.

The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairman Dr Ugljesa Mrdic and attended by the following Committee members and deputy members: Verica Milanovic, Boris Bajic, Natasa Milic Milas, Lidija Nacic, Biljana Ilic Stosic, Djordje Komlenski, Goran Spasojevic, Jasmina Palurovic, Risto Kostov, Dragan Nikolic, Branko Pavlovic, Prof. Dr Jelena Jerinic and Aleksandar Ivanovic, as well as MP, MA Milovan Drecun, who is not member of the Committee.
