Ninth Sitting of the Committee on Kosovo-Metohija

At the sitting held on 21 May 2018, the members of the Committee on Kosovo-Metohija reviewed the Office for Kosovo-Metohija Activity Report for the period January – December 2017, submitted by the Office for Kosovo-Metohija.

The Office for Kosovo-Metohija Activity Report was presented by the Deputy Head of the Office for Kosovo-Metohija Dusan Kozarev who said that in the reporting period the Office focused on the realization of the Serbian state policy, for the purpose of opening EU Negotiation Chapter 35. He also said that in the reporting period the Office for Kosovo-Metohija provided legal assistance to persons living in AP Kosovo-Metohija, as well as internally displaced persons, who were provided legal assistance under the auspices of the Legal Assistance Project funded by EU-IPA 2013 funds, under which offices were established in Belgrade, Nis, Kraljevo, Vranje, Gracanica and Kosovska Mitrovica to enhance availability to the end users.

The economy, economic development and infrastructure saw the continuation of a series of projects such as the “Suncana dolina” in Zvecan and “Rajska Banja” in Banjska, and the launching of a series of other activities. Kozarev said that the Office also worked on the protection of the cultural heritage in AP Kosovo-Metohija, as one of the most vulnerable areas of life of the Serbian population living there, helping strengthen their identity and providing other strategic assistance vital for the survival of Serbs in the area. The Office for Kosovo-Metohija’s public service support efforts focused on analysing and recording the situation, monitoring the realization of ongoing and drafting and realization of new projects aimed at advancing healthcare and education, the work of NGOs and Serbian organizations.

Following a debate the Committee member accepted the Office for Kosovo-Metohija Activity Report for the period January – December 2017, by majority vote.

The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairman Milovan Drecun, and attended by the following Committee members and deputy members: Dragana Kostic, Aleksandar Markovic, Jelena Mijatovic, Milovan Krivokapic, Dragan Veljkovic, Sonja Vlahovic, Aleksandar Cotric, Dragomir Karic, Tanja Tomasevic Damnjanovic, Zvonimir Stevic, Sneaana Paunovic, Boaidar Delic, Miljan Damjanovic, Gordana Comic, Bosko Obradovic, Zoran Radojicic, Slavisa Ristic and Goran Bogdanovic.
