Nineteenth Sitting of the Local Self-Government Committee

At the sitting held on 19 September, the Local Self-Government Committee considered, in principle, the Public Property Bill, submitted by the Government of the Republic of Serbia.


The sitting was attended by Milorad Bjelopetrovic, Advisor to the Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Goran Radosavljevic, State Secretary at the Ministry of Finance and representatives of the Standing Conference of Towns and Municipalities.

Elaborating the Bill, State Secretary Radosavljevic stated that it regulates the right to public property of the Republic of Serbia, autonomous province and local self-government unit. The Bill establishes three categories of public property – natural resources, property of public interest and property in general use and defines the manner of disposal of public property.

In the ensuing debate the Committee members were additionally informed on some of the provisions of the Bill and voiced their opinions.

By a majority of votes, the Local Self-Government Committee adopted the Public Property Bill, in principle.

The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairman Jovan Palalic.
