National Security Policy Seminar Held in Garmisch-Partenkirchen
A National Assembly delegation took part in the National Security Policy Seminar held from 17 to 19 October 2012, in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, FR Germany.
The seminar, organised by the George C. Marshall European Centre for Security Studies, covered ten panel discussions within which the MPs had the opportunity to exchange opinions and experiences with the George C. Marshall Centre experts on topics such as the role of parliaments in the security sector reform; planning and monitoring of the execution of the state defence budget; creation of the state foreign policy; fight against corruption; improvement of governance and the rule of law.
The seminar also provided the MPs with the opportunity to learn more, via the panels, about the NATO’s current affairs and its partnership programmes i.e. the European Union and its Common Foreign and Security Policy.
In the course of the seminar, the delegation met with the Bulgarian Defence Minister Jordan Bozilov and former State Secretary at the Slovak Ministry of Defence Robert Ondrejcak.
The National Assembly delegation comprised the MPs Jadranka Joksimovic, Irena Vujovic, Maja Videnovic, Jelena Trivan, Elvira Kovacs, Meho Omerovic, Konstantin Samofalov, Dejan Radenkovic, Bojan Kostres, Nenad Konstantinovic, Igor Becic and Bojan Kostres, as well as the National Assembly Deputy Secretary General Mladen Mladenovic.
