National Assembly Standing Delegation at PABSEC General Assembly
The National Assembly standing delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (PABSEC) is taking part in the organization’s General Assembly in Istanbul, 4 – 6 July, under the auspices of Turkey’s six-month chairmanship.
MA Igor Becic, Head of the National Assembly standing delegation to PABSEC and PABSEC Vice-President, met with the Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly and PABSEC President Ismail Kahraman. They discussed the advancement of overall bilateral relations with a special focus on strengthening economic cooperation and parliamentary diplomacy. They emphasized the importance of parliamentary cooperation for the improvement of overall bilateral relations, highlighting the two countries’ delegations’ excellent cooperation within PABSEC and openness to continue it in the coming period.
MA Igor Becic presented Serbia’s reform efforts and its significant role as the keeper of peace and stability in the region.
The officials agreed that the coming meeting between the two countries’ presidents first in Istanbul on 10 July on the margins of the World Petroleum Congress, and then during Turkish President Erdogan’s official visit to Serbia would greatly contribute to the development of bilateral relations.
