As the envoy of the President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic, Dr Orlic conveyed the President’s sincere congratulations and wishes for DR Congo’s success and progress to President Tshisekedi, thanking him for the invitation to take part in the inauguration ceremony.

The National Assembly Speaker expressed his belief that, during Tshisekedi's mandate, the two countries will continue to strengthen their decades-long friendship, embodied in mutual understanding, trust and common commitment to respecting the basic principles of international law. In that regard, he thanked President Tshisekedi for DR Congo’s principled support in terms of respecting our country’s territorial integrity and sovereignty. "You can count on the same support from our side - always", said the National Assembly Speaker.

Dr Orlic emphasised that, for the Republic of Serbia, DR Congo is one of the most important partners in the Central African region, expressing his belief that the next legislature of the National Assembly will continue to contribute to an even more dynamic and meaningful cooperation in all areas of mutual interest.

On the sidelines of the inauguration ceremony, the National Assembly Speaker had the opportunity to discuss bilateral relations and strengthening cooperation with the presidents of the Republic of South Africa, the Central African Republic, Chad, Kenya, Gabon, as well as with the heads of the parliaments of Morocco and the Ivory Coast.
