National Assembly Speaker at Mathematical Grammar School 57th Anniversary

The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Dr Vladimir Orlic attended the celebration of School Day - the 57th anniversary of the foundation of the Mathematical Grammar School.

Speaker Orlic congratulated the students and teacher, saying that the Mathematical Grammar School has been educating the most successful young people for almost six decades, who bring their school the highest honours from world competitions, representing Serbia in the best way which today the state recognises and awards this by providing concrete support.

"Everything we do in the state today is intended for you and is a pledge for a better future, because our future is you - young, smart, successful people. For Serbia, the most important thing would be that you build your future here, to start your families here and realise yourself professionally. This is the goal we are all committed to: from the President, then the National Assembly and the Government, all the way to the cities and municipalities - we are all on this task,'' stressed Speaker Orlic.

He especially thanked the teachers of the Mathematical Grammar School for their exceptional dedication, commitment and effort to create outstanding experts and above all, good people who would not only manage to use their potential, but also develop virtues, in whom human qualities multiply in the most beautiful way possible.

"That is why I hope all of you together, both professors and students, as well as all the wonderful and dedicated people who work at this school, will continue on the path of great success for many more years, with faith in yourself and the country that stands by you, in our Serbia", said Speaker Orlic.

The school received a donation from the National Assembly in the form of computers that will be used by students who have achieved the most significant success in numerous competitions.

The Mathematical Grammar School was founded on 19 September 1966, by decree of the Government of the Republic of Serbia and it was designated as an institution of special interest for the Republic of Serbia. Its students have won hundreds of medals at international competitions.
