National Assembly Speaker Visits Shanghai

At the end of her visit to China, the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic stated that she leaves the country convinced that the Serbian and Chinese parliaments play an important role in establishing communication which should be used to further all manner of cooperation, economic and commercial, educational, cultural and health.


On the last day of her visit to China Djukic-Dejanovic spoke to the Shanghai Parliament Speaker Liu Yungeng. She said that sharing experiences and cooperation with the city assembly is very important to Serbia, particularly in view of the fact that it represents 23 million citizens.

In Shanghai, Djukic-Dejanovic, who headed the parliamentary delegation visiting China, among other things, visited the neurological hospital and the University. She deemed the meetings at the University particularly interesting where specific research, educational and publishing cooperation were discussed as well as possible cooperation between Serbian and Shanghai universities.

The Serbian parliamentary delegation also comprised Secretary General Veljko Odalovic and members of parliament Jelena Trivan, Branko Ruzic, Velimir Ilic, Meho Omerovic, Jorgovanka Tabakovic, Dragan Todorovic and Nikola Lazic.
