Having spoken to her Chinese host Djukic-Dejanovic announced that the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia would sign a memorandum of cooperation with China's National People's Congress which would define concrete cooperation between assembly bodies, manner of sharing experiences and frequency of parliamentary meetings.

“The memorandum would also refer to taking joint stands on issues of common interest” said Djukic-Dejanovic after her meeting with the Chairman of China's National People's Congress Wu Bangguo. Djukic-Dejanovic reminded that a Chinese delegation visited Belgrade in July last year which, as both sides noted during the meeting in Beijing, marked the beginning of more intense parliamentary cooperation.

The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia noted that the parliament could play a significant role in fostering economic and commercial cooperation between the two countries.

The parliamentary delegation comprises Secretary General Veljko Odalovic and members of parliament Jelena Trivan, Branko Ruzic, Velimir Ilic, Meho Omerovic, Jorgovanka Tabakovic, Dragan Todorovic and Nikola Lazic.
