National Assembly Speaker Meets with Ukrainian Ambassador to Serbia

The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Ana Brnabic met today with Ukrainian Ambassador to Serbia Volodymyr Tolkach, expressing her willingness to continue the cooperation at the parliamentary level.

The National Assembly Speaker stressed that Serbia attaches special importance to bilateral relations and cooperation with the friendly and traditionally close Ukraine, expressing hope that peace will spread in Ukraine as soon as possible.

She also said that the Serbian authorities are aware of the situation Ukraine is going through and that they are carefully following all the needs, proposals and initiatives, such as the "Peace Formula" and the "International Coalition for the Return of Illegally Deported Ukrainian Children".

Ambassador Tolkach thanked Serbia for the humanitarian aid it had sent to Ukraine in various forms. He also said that he is happy that the new the National Assembly legislature had set up a Parliamentary Friendship Group with Ukraine which will contribute to the development of cooperation between the two parliaments.

Speaker Brnabic expressed her pleasure that she would be able to host her Ukrainian colleague Ruslan Stefanchuk in the future, who expressed his interest in making an official visit to Serbia.
