National Assembly Speaker Meets with Shandong Province Chinese Communist Party Committee Secretary

The Speaker of the Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Ana Brnabic met today with Lin Wu, the secretary of the Committee of the Communist Party of China in Shandong Province, and a delegation from that region, and expressed her satisfaction that in her previous post she had worked to establish stronger ties between Serbia and the People's Republic of China, adding that was especially glad to be able to continue in the same vein now at the parliamentary level.

Brnabic especially thanked the guests for China’s principled position regarding Serbia’s territorial integrity and its position on Kosovo-Metohija.

Brnabic also said that the Parliamentary Friendship Group with the People's Republic of China is special because it is the group with the most members and activities, and that the fact that it is chaired by the Parliament Deputy Speaker and Chairperson of the Foreign Affairs Committee underlines the importance of the relationship between the two countries.

Secretary Lin Wu thanked the Speaker for the hospitality, adding that he believed that Serbia’s visible development would be even bigger in the future, that it opens up new fields of cooperation between the two countries and that many companies from the Shandong region have already successfully worked on important infrastructure projects in our country.

Speaker Brnabic said that the cooperation between Serbia and the People's Republic of China is strengthening in the fields of education, science, research and development and that we are interested in exchanging experiences with China as regards developing science and technology parks and infrastructure support for innovation activity, especially since Shandong is known as the educational centre in the People's Republic of China.
